So it dawned on me that it's open enrollment benefits time and I needed to decide whether or not I was going to get braces next year so I could put aside the flex spending money. I had noticed in the last year that my bottom teeth were getting crooked and it seemed to be getting worse over time. Pretty soon I was sure I was going to have completly gnarly teeth in the front. Oddly enough, my normal dentist didn't say anything about it - maybe they don't care? I was somewhat in denial though because I suffered through braces in high school for 3 years complete with colored rubber bands and headgear though luckily I only wore that at home.
So today I went in for an orthodontic consultation choosing my dentist completely based on proximity (he's a 10 minute walk away) which is probably not the cheapest option but I figured if I had to be going there all the time, convenience would be a big factor. So during my exam, there were 3 other patients there and looking over, I realized they were all little children all patiently being worked on. (I don't get why they weren't in school at 10am though). I don't recall kids getting braces so early in life. But maybe they do now?
Anyhow, looks like it's going to happen. Going to get another consultation or two to make sure. Yes you can call me metalmouth again.
A friend sent me this to make me feel better
Braces are cool article
But I think they are only cool for kids...

Lots of adults get braces. Just ask Tom Cruise or Gwen Stefani...It's trendy now.
did they offer you the removable retainers? I've heard they're easier to deal with...
