So I've actually been going out on dates for once. I know, it's shocking. But it is telling me what I like and don't like in a guy.
1) It's not a good sign if the guy tells you all about his strip club experiences and thinks you enjoy the stories. Also when he suggests that you go sometime because he thinks you'll really enjoy it.
2) A guy not offering to pay really does make me think differently of him.
3) A guy who drives stick shift seems so much more manly and competent in my eyes for some reason.
4) A guy who offers to drive and likes to drive to places is a plus. Most girls I know don't like to drive. I thought I was one who liked to drive but really it's nice to be driven around and I think guys like to do it too. I can see how they could be bothered to be driven around by the girl. Random poll for those of you in relationships or just in general: who does most of the driving? And for guys out there, do you like to be the one in the driver's seat?
5) A guy who is very competent about typical guy things is extremely hot.

i drive 2/3 of the time and prefer to drive. but i don't drive a stick shift, therefore i'm not manly.
I much prefer to be driven...and that is typically how it is. Sometimes if he lives somewhere more convenient (say SF), I end up driving up there a lot. But, once we're hanging out together, he drives (even if it is my car).
Is it the ability to drive stick? Or owning a stick car? Or the action of actually driving the stick car? And, can you drive stick?
I'm trying to drive more, but generally it's him - particularly in his new car. He does love it when I drive though (automatic only). Given that the bay area is know for hills and occasional bad traffic, I am baffled as to why ANYONE would drive stick.
j and i both hate driving now so that makes us both pretty girly. Long work commutes will do that to you.
Manaul is fun to drive, and honestly not that much more trouble. But you know what's hotter than a guy that can drive stick? yup. you guessed it. A girl who can drive manual. :)
