Welcome to miami

48 hours in south beach was crazy and amazing. The adventure started Friday morning when V and I arrived at our hotel. We immediately passed out for a multi hour nap. The fabulousness of miami was that we started drinking mojitos with the first meal of the day. The hotel concierge was taken aback when we asked about boat tours or trips - looks like most people don't do much in miami except drink and sunbathe. The shuttle to the boat launch actually had a body fluid cleanup kit. I hope they were referring to vomit - i shudder to think about what other fluids they were speaking of... Anyhow, our little boat tour turned out to be a tour of the rich and famous houses on the water front. The most expensive property was a beautiful estate owned by the inventor of aspirin and viagra. go drugs.

S arrived later friday night and we went strolling on lincoln road for a trendy place to eat. We ended up settling for a sushi/thai place. Not sure how the two go together. There were zillions of sushi places on that road though. It was midnight by the time we were done eating and we were too sober for that time of night. We needed liquor and fast. We could have just ordered at a bar but drinks were going between 8-12 a pop and that was too expensive to get a good buzz going. Liquor stores were closed though so we started hitting walgreens and cvs but with no luck. What kind of drugstores don't sell hard liquor? It was a travesty and very depressing.

We ended up heading to rose bar in the Delano hotel which had a slow moving line. They only let in 5 people ahead of us and we eventually hit the front of the line due to everyone in front of us giving up in despair. One guy tried bribery to no avail - luckily for us, a group of 3 girls had no problem getting in and this place was definitely worth the wait. Think white curtains and white sofas. Think pretty pretty people and elegance. It was quite a relaxing lounge.
