formosa
So at work, someone has a very similar email address as mine so I am constantly forwarding his misredirected mails for him. He dropped me an email the other day thanking me for all the constant forwards and then asked if I was from Taiwan and if I wanted to join the formosa mailing list at work. So I know all my friends are mostly Asian but the idea of joining a Taiwanese mailing list made me a bit uneasy. A few emails later, it turned out that they mostly speak mandarin at their biweekly lunches (gulp!) so I tried to back out but I finally gave in figuring what's one more mailing list really. Maybe my mandarin will improve... if I ever decide to go to these lunches. They're mostly first generation pro-Taiwan people though - some dude even has an ROC flag in his cube.
