We went to the outsidelands music festival on Sunday and I mostly had no idea of who was playing since I have music amnesia: I am unable to name songs or artists of songs tho I can tell you if it sounds familiar. Okay I could probably recognize Lady Gaga, Eminem etc since they are so recognizable. But the others are all a blur. C swore that I would know the music and that it was a great lineup. We drove to the park against all recommendations to take public transit and were able to park only a couple blocks away. We got there in time just to hear Temper Trap who had an asian looking lead singer. And C was right, I did recognize the last song Sweet Disposition. Which is something I've heard on the radio a bunch and really liked.
Next up was Al Greene who C said he was not familiar with and I mentioned how they always had Ally Mcbeal dancing to Al Greene music. C gave me a blank look back. Ah well. Unfortunately I dozed off during his set due to lack of sleep in the 24 hr relay the day before. Oops. My favorite was Phoenix who sounded great live and had lots of songs I recognized! The whole crowd was dancing along to this song.
So last was the headliner: Kings of Leon. Unfortunately, the sun had dropped by this point and it was freezing cold in golden gate park. I was itching to go home b/c it was so cold but C convinced me to try and stay until I heard a song I recognized. 30 minutes went by and still nothing. Ugh. They must have been saving it for the last 15 minutes of their 90 minute set. I couldn't take it any longer and dragged us home shortly after. I then loaded up the music on my laptop and listened to it instead.
