conversing

So those of you know that know me also know that I'm not a big phone person. There are some who have even told me I'm terrible on the phone. It's because I get distracted on the phone and then it seems like way more effort to converse so I spend most of the time just wondering when the conversation will end. I guess I'm not one for idle chit chat. Anyhow, so when this guy my parents found for me told me he would prefer to talk on the phone, I gave a big mental sigh.

This last sunday, I was driving home from tahoe and was about 15 minutes away from home when my phone rang. It was setup guy. I tried to get out of the conversation at first by saying "oh, hi. Um, actually I'm driving right now". Most other people usually would then suggest that I call them back at some point instead at a better time but this guy instead was like "oh, so am I!" and then proceeded to settle into conversation. I have never in my life encountered such a chatty guy. On the one hand, this enabled me to drive home, move my luggage into my house, and settle in at home all without him noticing since he just kept talking and talking. I learned all about auditing which as you can imagine, is so very fascinating. I finally got him to end the conversation by saying I needed to shower.

I wonder how this will be in person.
