When I booked this ages ago, I was worried this would be too cold in early May. And yes, it was cold but because it was so cold, it was mostly occupied by RVs and people went to sleep early so it was the quietest campground ever. This was a trip with Lawrence and his kids and we got stockpiles of firewood. We were at premium campsite #73 which was probably the nicest and biggest of the premium campsites though the advantage of some of the smaller sites was that you didn't have to walk to the fence to see the ocean but they had no tree cover either. Probably a good combo would be #73 and the one next door (#75) for the views.
