Books

So surprisingly, ever since having the baby, I've been reading a ton. All thanks to nursing, pumping and the power of kindle - lots of time to do nothing but read. Tho lately, babyH will try to grab at the kindle so I'm guessing it will end soon. In addition to kindle books, I now follow some mommy blogs and especially love amalah.com. I found this recent post about her discovery of the Hunger games trilogy really funny.

If you go to amazon, hunger games has been on the top 10 list forever it seems but I first heard about it on the sarah and vinnie show last summer where Vinnie was raving about it. In my sleep deprived state though, I looked it up on amazon and thought it was written by Jackie Collins (notably known for trashy novels) and passed. It wasn't until 3 months later that I realized it was written by some other completely unrelated Collins and ordered it right before V's bachelorette party in vegas. Man I was sucked in immediately and felt so behind the times since it came out in 2006! I felt kind of bad reading it in vegas b/c it was one of those books where I would want to stay up all night to finish. I actually even looked forward to my pumping breaks on the trip just to get a chance to pick up where I left off.

So yes now I'm part of the fervent fan base along with a multitude of teens waiting for this movie to come out in March. C keeps telling me it wil probably be terrible like how the One for the money adaptation was (now that was a case where the book just doesn't translate well to the screen). But I can only hope.
