2 week trial

To help with our resolutions this year, I saw that the Y had a free 2 week trial so we signed up at the end of January. I used to belong to this Y years ago so I was happy to return but it seemed very different now. The good: locker rooms have been renovated, everything seems nicer. The bad: Extremely extremely packed. We showed up once to a spin class and all the bikes were taken. Ugh. And this was after I had to search for parking for 10 minutes. So very frustrating but then again it was January so everyone was working on their new year's resolutions just like us.

At least I got to try out some aqua aerobics classes and for that first class, I got this long talk from the instructor about how my heart rate would go really high and I should take it easy. (This was after I told her I usually did lap swimming). She claimed that my heart rate would go higher than lap swimming. Hrm. That wasn't quite true tho it was a fun class mostly b/c some people I knew did the class with me. I tried another aqua class the week after but this one was at night and now I know why they recommend you wear a rash guard (tho there is no rash guard that could cover my belly). It got super cold since the exertion wasn't that high and I started shivering toward the end. Not pleasant.

So our two week Y trial ended at the beginning of February but looks like C is still doing well on his working out more/losing weight resolution. It helped that he went and bought a new set of rollers for his bike so now he wants to workout more. But what is most depressing is that he told me his weight last week and it was my current weight! And now I can only go up whereas he is still trying to lose another 5 lbs. Blah. I guess no sympathy weight from him.
