February

Huh. Just realized that I did not have a single blog post for February. Granted, it is a short month but I guess it went by in such a whirlwind. So this will be a whirlwind summary. Came back from Zurich and headed straight into S's wedding weekend. Her wedding was at Fogarty vineyard up on skyline. When I went up there for the rehearsal, it was cloudy and stormy but had a very romantic feel to it all because of all the fog. We were all a little scared of how cold and wet it would be but Saturday (the wedding day) became a beautiful clear day - one of those rare days were you could see all the way to the bay from skyline. Amazing. It was just gorgeous all around. Our presents from S were beautiful saris from India and it was super fun to get all decked out in them after dinner. Now I'm ready for more indian weddings!

Then as life has it, with every joyous moment, there is a passing. My sister and I went to LA the weekend after for our grandmother's funeral. She was 87 and we were happy that she was able to go with family all around her at the end. Funerals are eerily familiar to weddings. There was a guestbook table and photo displays. We had programs and food favors for the guests to take with them. Guests tried to give money to my parents (this part i didn't understand but I guess it's traditional to give money).

The rest of the February has been spent just resting since now we have the cat again and spent the first week in a state of sleep deprivation since she spent the first few nights meowing all night. C compared it to having a baby but I said "well we can ignore her with earplugs - not like we can do that with a baby!"
