the ideal profession

So I was chatting with someone the other day who professed a desire to meet single doctors. This was a bit surprising to me since you might sterotypically think that girls (or more accurately their families) would be the ones who wanted to find single doctors. But this friend was male and his reasoning for wanting to date a doctor was because they are smart and hard working. True true. That got me thinking, what would be the ideal profession for a significant other? Maybe I've been going about this all wrong. Instead of searching by ethnicity or interests, I should just be asking my friends, "do you know any single lawyers?" for example.

1. Doctors - On the one hand, my parents would be over the moon. On the other hand, they may be arrogant or just way too busy to have any time. They would be most useful if I needed a prescription for something though. Doctors tend to have some good stories as well.

2. Lawyers - Some of the most overworked people in the world. And some of the unhappiest it seems. I was at a dinner party once and met some female lawyers who claimed that every woman in their law firm was divorced because of the workload they had.

3. Developers - Oh so hard to analyze this group of people. It's nice to talk to someone who actually knows what you do on a day to day basis and then again, it's nice to have complete separation with your work life.

I was going to go through some more professions and then I got tired. So in my world, there are only lawyers, doctors, and engineers. Sorry scientists out there and whatever else the rest of you do.
