So depending on how my day is going at work, I try to see where I want to be in 10 years and I'm realizing that almost everyone I work with is in the 40 years and younger age group. So where is the magical place that everyone goes when they are too old in this industry? Maybe I'll just have to find out.
In any case, a few weeks ago, I had dinner with L/Y and Y and I had a moment of commiseration where we regretted not joining Google from the get-go and being ultra rich right now. Y had turned down an offer a few years ago whereas a whole bunch of my fellow schoolmates all joined the year the company started. It was funny - we both don't necessarily hate our jobs but work is really just work at this point and it would be so nice to not have to do it any longer. We're already a little burned out. As Y finally concluded to me "You have to marry rich". It was at this point that L turned to her and said "Sorry, I failed you". Their wedding is in a few weeks.
