Denmark: Bike Tour

Sunday

Took the train to Fredericia where we met the tour and started biking. Denmark is pretty flat but we encountered such a steep hill that I thought I was going to fall with christopher so had to get off and walk. Some pretty coastal views. Tour guide thought parents would be lost - they missed their first train while they were standing there on the platform. Had to show my dad how to use google maps.

Overnight: Vejle

Monday

Was supposed to be legoland day and long route with hannah but there was a last minute child swap and 90 k over lots of gravel and loose soil. Christopher loved holding a fruit bar and sat happily for 50 miles.

Was a pretty tough and long day and got in at 6pm.

Overnight: Aarhus (Hotel rooms were tiny!!!)

Tuesday

Was going to go for a ride but charles accidentally locked the bikes together and then realized he didn't know the code. So we took Hannah to the local art museum instead which featured a rainbow panorama walkway at the top.

Wednesday

Biked back to Odense on a bridge of a waterway that was also the highway. Met parents at the local fish shack for lunch.

Overnight: Odense

Thursday

Biked to Egeskov castle and met my parents there. Lots of fun things at the castle including a rope bridge, zip line and maze. I failed to find my way out of the maze.

Overnight: Svendborg

Friday

Took a ferry to Aero island and biked on the bike path to Marstal but then there was a sudden downpour as we were circling the island and everyone got soaked.

We had to take shelter in someone's garage. Went straight back to the ferry but had extra time so went to the beach which the kids loved.

Saturday

Hannah went with my parents to Odense zoo. We biked with Christopher along the coast to meet up at the train station.

Lunch at fish shack and trained back to copenhagen
