C and I drove to LA last weekend. And yes that sentence still amazes me because I hate driving down I-5, the most boring stretch of road. The whole time we were driving, C kept asking "Why are we driving again?". I would then give him an aggravated look since he was the one who said we should drive.
Saturday we worked on taxes some more in preparation with meeting with the accountant and then we went off to do what we do best in LA. Eat. and eat and eat. Dim Sum followed by 2 hours of badminton and then dinner again. What amazes me about badminton is that my parents play for 3 hours a day and we were winded after 1 hour. When I think about it, it's really impressive given that my parents are in their 60's and they were smashing the badminton birdie in my face. Then again, I just don't like things flying at my face. C claims "older people have more stamina". I don't doubt they do and we had to throw our hands up in failure and claim we needed to rest while we watched them play other folks.
Saturday night, my cousin and aunt dropped by so we could see her daughter (18 months now). Turns out my cousin took her baby in for an allergy test and the baby is allergic to everything. Milk, wheat, egg white, peanuts, etc. So all the baby eats is white rice. Well I do hope she can get nutrients from something else (apparently the baby doesn't like meat or fish - she's a natural vegan!) I made some comment that lots of babies seem to have allergies these days now (we've heard of a lot of cases) and then of course my mom immediately blamed my cousin for probably eating weird things during her pregnancy. I love that. It's always the mother's fault. Great. I blame the allergy test. I thought they weren't that accurate but I guess I've only heard of results from adults taking it.
