They're back

to torture me. My parents I mean.

I picked them up from the airport this evening and my mom of course noticed right away that I have a cold (I'm all sniffly and hoarse). But oddly enough the first thing she said was "I hope you aren't taking any medicine for this right??" And I said no because I'm too lazy to dose myself and having a cold doesn't bother me that much. Then I didn't think anything of it until after dinner, my dad said "you know you will have to cancel your hawaii trip in January if you are pregnant" (since we had mentioned possibly going to hawaii then). Then my mom in the backseat said "That's because you will get sick and you can't take medication if you are pregnant".

That's when it dawned on me why she asked if I was taking any drugs for my cold. They would rather I suffer than harm any potential fetus. I'm temped to start drinking hard liquor in front of them now to freak them out.

oh boy. when/if you DO decide to take the plunge, it looks like you're going to have a tough time with their expectations.

FYI, I'm at 5 months, being kicked from the inside, and am writing this comment from a 12 hr-a-day work conference in Michigan. I have travel planned up through month 7.
