And no sadly, not that kind of "action". Anyhow, I really meant to catch up on some work this weekend but oh well. Watched brokeback mountain Friday night with J which I found very interesting but depressing and also at times baffling - It provoked a lot of thought though. I read some movie reviews of it afterwards and they would analyze how all the weird anger/fighting scenes that Heath ledger's character indicated how at war he was with himself. Ah, that made more sense in retrospect. I needed a study guide clearly. I was also shocked that I saw Anne Hathaway's boobs - she's that girl from the Princess Diaries!
Sat was a jampacked day from dragonboat practice in the morning to an insanely speedy lunch with S. The weather was quite nice at times and made me really want to live in the city and then I tried to find parking around clement street and wanted to kill myself after circling for 20 minutes. U and I watched "Walk the line" which once again shows a marriage where they are all wrong for each other. I really liked reese's singing in the movie - a cute country twang. Afterwards, U and I hit the mission for crepes at Ti Couz and had a lovely evening gabbing and gabbing about life.
Sunday, I slept in but did manage to drag myself to yoga to go be limber. I've been working on headstands and slowly have been building up to finally trying to go all the way up and I did it today but immediately lost my balance and fell over to my side. ow. note to self: make sure no one is next to you the next time you try it.
Tonight was a big meal in celebration of M's 30th birthday tomorrow. V came over early to make her soup and I cooked lots of veggies. I pulled out my sister's neat little electric grill and grilled beef bulgolgi and ribs. Yum! It was so fun having a little dinner party. We've talked so much about having a biweekly cooking group. If only we could commit the time regularly. The folks that came for dinner tonight were: Y, V, L, H, M, J, and male H (oh, not that H for those that know the other "H").
