winding down the week

Hair
------------

I finally broke down and ordered a flatiron for my hair yesterday (the even more exciting thing is that i was able to use paypal!). http://www.folica.com and no i don't work for them. After looking at the crazy and spiky mess for a few days in a row, I realized something just had to be done. I also realized that I had this same haircut in college except a tad bit shorter and didn't quite like it then. You think I would have learned. Alas, I guess I'm doomed to repeat past mistakes over and over again. Hopefully that won't apply for the relationsihps in my life. Well, one can only hope i suppose.

Body
------------

Went back to Labelle to use up the rest of my gift cards and had a fabulous massage but a not so fabulous body scrub. It's kinda hard to enjoy the scrub when you're bare ass naked and shivering. For some reason, I don't remember temperature being a problem in the past but then again I have never gotten a scrub at LaBelle before. The massage therapist said that Michelle Pfeiffer (or someone who looks A LOT like her) came in for a massage recently and this Michelle Pfeiffer clone lives in Woodside. Any woodside people out there? Let me know if this is true.

Mind
----------

I wonder what I should be feeling when an elderly relative dies. My friends have been saying "I'm sorry" but I feel like i shouldn't get these condolences when I'm not really grieving. It seems unfair to pretend to be sad when I'm not feeling much of anything. Perhaps it's the time to support the relative's closest kin who will be the ones feeling the lost the keenest right now. My sister asked our mom if our dad was ok with regards to the loss and our mom seemed surprised by the question. So I guess they're not grieving much either... or something. So maybe what I'm feeling or not feeling is normal then. My twinge of conscience is assuaged.
