| Walking to the beach |
Monday
On the long drive up to sea ranch, I took the kids to the Sticker Factory. Sadly, you needed to have booked the factory months in advance it looked like so this really was just a stop to a sticker store. The drive to Sea Ranch was super harrowing - I was super glad to be doing this in daylight and I had been wondering if any of my kids got motion sick like I do and I got confirmation after Christopher vomited all over himself. I'm super mean though and kept driving since there wasn't a good place to pull over and we were almost at the checkin place for the house. We got the keys and headed over to the house but were super confused to see that the house had no sheets and the beds weren't made at all. I called them asking if I was supposed to have brought my own sheets and they sent someone out right away to clean.| Looking at shell beach |
Tuesday
The house we rented was walkable to the beach so we found the path and headed out. We spent the day at Shell Beach but we weren't sure what to do about lunch. I brought some snacks but in the end we headed back so Asha could nap as well. In the afternoon, I took Hannah and Christopher biking and we explored the neighborhood. Christopher fell asleep during this ride which I wanted to happen anyways. Vidya and Lakshmi walked over to the playground to join us and actually got a ride from some locals. Everyone was so friendly here! After all the napping, we decided to take the kids to the neighborhood pool but it was super windy and surprisingly cold. Hannah threw a fit and refused to go in because she had a bandaid on.
Wednesday:
We wanted to go checkout a tidepool beach to see seals but after yesterday's ordeal of trying to get her 3 kids to walk, Sangeetha decided to drive hers over and I took Hannah and Christopher on a walk over. On the way we saw a ton of seals and walked through a cool grove of trees. On the walk back, they insisted on going down to the beach again.Thursday
The kids really wanted to go back to the tidepool beach again and then we dropped by Shell Beach and loitered. Sangeetha ended up taking Asha back first so I got to experience having 4 kids with me! They had fun climbing all the rocks. When we were back at the house, they played a little in the backyard and saw deer!
Now my memory is a bit fuzzy here since I am blogging so late but Strava tells me I took my kids on a bike ride to the chapel on dangerous highway 1 on Thursday around 5pm but I also remember taking the kids swimming with Sangeetha.
How would we have crammed in beach + biking + swimming? Hrmmm. I do remember the pool.
Okay I even just checked my Google Timeline and it clearly notes that we went to all 3 places that day. That seems crazy!
