So if you haven't been to downtown mt view in a while, you're going to be surprised by all the changes. First of all there is a big new parking structure behind the chinese market (with plenty of parking - i guess most people don't know about it). There are also a few new restaurants such as the one C and I checked out this week. It's a japanese restaurant called Nami Nami - Teacher M referred us there saying it was her family's new favorite place. We ordered about 5 small dishes and the first two were a seaweed/cucumber dish and the other was an eel dish. Both weren't quite what I was expecting. The seaweed was more like a seaweed cold soup like thing which was very hard to consume using chopsticks and the eels looked like cold noodles except when you saw the little eyeballs looking at you. It was just a little too slimy for me to deal with.
The next two dishes were this steamed egg dish and this shrimp ball dish. Tasty and I think the steamed egg dish is also a taiwanese one so I should ask my mom how to make that. Both portions were small though so we started to worry if we would get enough food. Luckily we had the foresight to order udon which apparently was supposed to have yam but I was confused as to where the yam was in the broth. Overall an interesting experience. There were also a lot of sashimi and sushi options.
On a funny note as I was leaving the parking garage, I noticed this couple standing near their car just making out passionately. That made me ponder if this was an early date in the relationship or something or why wouldn't they just go back to their place.

1) they don't have privacy at their own places
2) they're new in the relationship
3) just really horny
You're all so unromantic. How about:
1) One of them had just proposed.
2) They haven't seen each other in a while.
3) She/they just found out she's pregnant.
4) He/she just got a job/raise. Or more generally, they just got good news.
